Inertia

This week is science week and we started with a simple experiment that involves inertia ( say it 'i ner sha').
Inertia means that if something is moving it will keep moving until something stops it. If something is not moving, it will just sit there until something comes along to move it.
Here is a link from Science Monster about inertia and gravity.

The nuts are not moving but when we take the hoop away gravity causes them to move.

Get Set Go

We had our first session of Get Set Go on Friday. It teaches fundamental movement skills with themes based around  stability (balance), locomotor skills (run, skip, jump, dodge) and manipulative skills (throw, catch, bounce, kick).
Our first session focussed on balance - what parts of our body can we balance on, balancing in pairs and in groups.
Don't forget your homework tasks Room 1!
