Grandparents Day.

We had a lovely time sharing our work with our Grandparents.
They all went to the hall and we sang and danced.
We all joined in with 'The Bird Dance'-a great effort by all.

Rats Visit Room 1.

Last week we had a visit from Keith's pet rats called Fish and Chips.
The are very cute and soft to touch.
They live in a cage in Kieth's bedroom.

Room 1's Assembly

On Friday the 20th of September it was Room 1's assembly.
We all took part in our Te Reo dance called Pakipaki and the poem called Alligator Pie.
Some of us presented the awards and birthday stickers and some people introduced the items.
We all enjoyed leading the assembly.

Bring and Buy.

On Wednesday we had a 'Bring and Buy' day at school. The proceeds of this day are going towards a Christmas party for children who do not have a lot.
 The School Council did a great job of setting up the tables and selling the toys, books and food. We all enjoyed our shopping in the afternoon.

Grandparents Questions.

We have written to you asking you questions about what it was like when you were our age.
We would love you to answer these in writing, emailing us or even come and visit our class to talk to us.
Here are some of our questions.

How was your school different from ours?
We have computers, ipads and interactive whiteboards.

What games did you like to play and what toys did you play with?

What were the clothes like when you were young?
Our clothes are very bright with lots of writing on.
We like wearing jeans, tights, hoodies and polar fleece.

What did you use to cook on at home?
We have stoves, microwaves and barbeques to cook on.

Invitation.

Invitation to our Grandparents.

We would like to invite you to our Grandparents afternoon at Normandale School. It is on Wednesday 25th September, starting at 1pm with a cop of tea, however if you would like to have lunch with us at school please come with your sandwiches at 12:40pm.
We will sing you some songs and dance for you. Then we will take you to our classroom and share some of our work.
Please let me know if you can come so I can tell my teacher.

Art Workshop.

Today we went to the hall for an Art Workshop. We drew fruit and vegetables with drawing pencils then went over them with a black vivid. Jane showed us how to colour and shade using the primary colours.

Daffodil Day.

It was 'Daffodil Day' on Friday and lots of people came dressed in yellow.
It was very bright and cheerful.
